Superkrush Showcase
On Thursday 5th June, NEPA hosted a Working Lunch at Pizza Express on Dean Street, to showcase the unique and accomplished filmmaking style of Newcastle-based film, video and television production company Superkrush Films.
Superkrush Managing Director Chris Taylor presented this opportunity to meet the team including Charly Conquest and Shelley Tassin, and enjoy the food and a drink whilst viewing the range of original, professional and inimitable work produced by the filmakers.
Before presenting the film and video showreel Chris outlined the many serivces offered by Superkrush, originally established in 2001. Boasting state of the art technical facilities including the latest Panasonic HDX High Definition cameras, body mounted stabilization system, direct hard drive storage and a full broadcast HD editing suite with CGI, graphics and FX capabilities, the company can, and do, produce commercial and corporate film and video promotions for a range of clients
He explained that they aim to make it easy to access their facilities by ensuring a professional yet friendly relaxed approach. The lively showreel featured recent work for Robson Brown, Newcastle College Royal Quays for Lateral Advertising, Northumbria University, Tyne Tees Televison and the BBC. Charly took over to outline some of the company’s ambitions and plans for their new community interest, not-for-profit arm ‘Engage TV’ which is currently looking for groups to work with on feature films and workshops. Question and answers followed from the audience of industry professionals and students before the generous pizza feast was served. Well worth the ticket price!
Our thanks go to Chris and Charly for fronting the event, to Pizza Express for catering and all who turned up. As the venue and the food proved equally popular this could well be the first of series of similar informal working lunches. Watch this space...
